Lotanna Ojukwu, the late Odumegwu Ojukwu’s younger brother, claims that most Igbos do not believe in Biafra.

Ojukwu believes that what the Igbos actually desire is equity and acceptance, rather than Biafra.

During an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, he mentioned this.

Ojukwu stated that Igbos do business all throughout Nigeria because they believe in the country.

According to Lotanna: “Most Igbos do not believe in ‘Biafra.’ What they want is an equal share and acceptance in Nigeria. If we love being by ourselves so much, why should so many Igbos live and do business all over Nigeria and Africa?”

Ojukwu went on to say that President Bola Tinubu is not like his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.

Unlike Buhari, he believes Tinubu has no ill intent against the Igbo people.

In response to queries about security issues plaguing the country’s Southeast area, the younger Ojukwu stated that Tinubu does not bear the same baggage that Buhari does about the Igbo people.

He insisted that the president would listen if the governors banded together to fight for Kanu’s release.

According to him, “If the governors are sincere, they are enough to be able to talk to the president, they will achieve the result that we are seeking on the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

“The most important fact is that the court has said Nnamdi Kanu should be released.

“We know that Buhari did not have much favour towards the Igbos. He called us a dot in the spot. So really I never believed Buhari was going to release Nnamdi Kanu, and I voiced it out anytime people ask for my opinion.

“But I believe Tinubu is a different person. He doesn’t carry the same baggage as Buhari appears to carry regarding the Igbo people.

“And I would like to see the Yoruba and the Igbos have a better standing love for each other’s ethnic group.”
