Benjamin Mendy, a former player for France and Manchester City, was cleared by a jury in a UK court on Friday of one count of rape and one count of attempted rape.
Mendy, 28, was on trial at Chester Crown Court in northwest England after having six accusations of rape and one count of sexual assault earlier dismissed.
