Heavily armed Department of State Services (DSS) officers are currently involved in a free-for-all battle with Nigeria Correctional Services (NCS) officials for the custody of Godwin Emefiele, the suspended former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
An unidentified high-ranking NCS officer has been severely beaten and arrested by DSS officials, who have mobilized more men to oppose the attempt by prison authorities to take Emefiele into custody.

The Prison authorities had summoned extra men moments before the clash to take Emefiele into jail as directed by the court.
Lawyers and journalists covering the case scurried to safety to escape being thrashed by DSS officials, who have now strategically placed their men in the courtroom to prevent Emefiele from being taken out of the court.
