Protests are currently raging in Enugu, the Coal City capital, in response to the State Government’s closure of companies.

According to news reports, the State Government on Monday closed many businesses, including shops in the Ogbete Main Market, for failing to operate on Monday.

Governor Peter Mbah, upon taking office, banned the regular Monday sit-in imposed by an IPOB group.

Many residents, however, have yet to comply with the government’s mandate for fear of being attacked by hoodlums.
