The Adamawa State Government has revisited Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s declaration of a 24-hour curfew following the disturbance on Sunday.

The curfew is currently enforced between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., allowing for unfettered travel throughout the state from dawn to nightfall.

Fintiri told the press during a security conference with service commanders early Monday morning that people should go about their lawful business.

“We call on our people to be law-abiding. We want to inform our people that the relaxation of the curfew between 6 pm and 6 am will be reviewed hourly.

“We expect that businesses will go as usual and our students will be on their way to school and life will go on,” he said.

Fintiri said, referring to people and corporate entities whose offices, warehouses, or stores were attacked during the looting in Yola on Sunday.

“We are awaiting a comprehensive report from NEMA on the extent of the damage that occurred yesterday.”
