The screening of Festus Keyamo as a ministry nominee caused major controversy in the Nigerian Senate on Monday.

According to Anaedoonline, some lawmakers were offended by Keyamo’s refusal to accept invitations from various committees in the 9th Senate and 9th House of Representatives while he was the Minister of State for Labour and Employment under President Muhammadu Buhari.

To stop Keyamo’s screening till he confirms to the Red Chambers that they have the authority to summon and question any Minister and his Ministry, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has petitioned Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
