Tinubu Salutes Super Falcons After They Bow Out of 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

After the Super Falcons of Nigeria were eliminated from the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup competition in Australia and New Zealand, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised the team.

The Super Falcons were eliminated from the Women’s World Cup on Monday after falling to England 4-2 in a Round of 16 match following a shootout.

At Brisbane’s Lang Park, the Round of 16 match ended 120 minutes earlier with a 0-0 draw.

In response, Tinubu praised the Super Falcons for their performance against England in a post sent from his Twitter account after the game, claiming that they had represented Nigeria with pride around the world.

He tweeted, “I must commend the effort by our Super Falcons @NGSuper_Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“Your brilliant performance did not go unnoticed despite the final outcome. You made Nigeria proud on the global stage!”
