A socio-political analyst named Shehu Sani has recommended the Senate not to appoint Nasir El-Rufai to the position of minister and former governor of Kaduna State.

Sani cautioned against clearing El-Rufai if Nigeria wants peace to last.

Sani claimed that El-Rufai was at the mercy of the Senate and that the previous governor had been playing god while he was in office.

He labelled the former governor as a zealot and a religious extremist in a tweet.

According to Sani: “The Unconfirmed Ministerial nominee; The Imp who was intoxicated with power, and who arrogantly played God is now at the mercy of those wielding power.

“A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power if that nation desires peace.”

Security concerns prevented the Senate from confirming El-Rufai and the other two.
