Meanwhile, Olusegun Obasanjo claimed that the only Nigerian Christian leader he is confident will reach paradise is the late Sunday Mbang, Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church of Nigeria.

The late Prelate was not just straightforward, but also a man without emotions, according to the former president, who attended the occasion on Friday as a Special Guest of Honour.

The late Prelate Emeritus Mbang was one of the well-known Nigerians Obasanjo consulted across the country shortly after his release from prison when pressure was mounting for him to take office as President of Nigeria. Obasanjo revealed that he greatly benefited from his guidance.

He claimed that due to his candour, the late Prelate Emeritus was a man who always sought his advice. He continued by saying that when Governor Emmanuel Udom was in charge of things in Akwa Ibom State and he needed Mbang’s advice on any pressing matter, he would travel to Akwa Ibom State pretending to be interested in meeting the governor, but in fact he was going to see the late Prelate Emeritus.
