Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), promised on Monday that the army and other security agencies will succeed in resolving the nation’s present security issues.

When he opened the newly built Headquarters of the 8th Division of the Nigerian Army at Sokoto, Lagbaja issued the guarantee.

“I must admit that the nation has faced some security challenges along the way, but the troops have been responding to these challenges across the country.

He urged Nigerians to aid the army in their fight against criminals in the nation by providing them with useful information.

According to Lagbaja, the purpose of building army formations was to position the troops closer to the populace so they could respond to security threats quickly and effectively.

The new barracks, he continued, would improve regimentation and the coordination of reactions to security threats.
