The announcement that The Gambia has won the 2023 Jollof competition during the West Africa Food Festival (WAFFEST), which was held in Lagos, drew a number of responses.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Gambian team, lead by the acclaimed Chef Saikou Bojang, defeated 15 other nations to win the competition, including Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Liberia.
Four master courses, food and wine tastings, and a cooking competition were all part of WAFFEST, which took place from August 9 to 14.
