Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning artist from Nigeria, has explained how the title of his upcoming seventh studio album, “I Told Them,” was inspired by some of his earlier tweets.
The record is called “I Told Them,” according to the self-described African Giant, who claimed to have learned this after going back in time on his Twitter account.
This was revealed by Burna Boy during a recent interview with the American media source Complex.
According to him, “Them” refers to anybody who has ever doubted me at any moment in the title of his album.The name of this album occurred to me one day when I randomly logged onto Twitter and began browsing through my older tweets.

“I wanted to see what the first tweet I ever tweeted was, for some strange reason.
“And then it just sent me down this rabbit hole, where I’m just looking at everything I ever said.
“I’m like, wow! It’s crazy. I really did say all these sh*ts that is happening now. And that kind of made me to name my album, ‘I Told Them’.”
The album would be released on Friday, August 25, 2023.
