The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal has invalidated Seyi Sowunmi’s election victory as the representative for Lagos State’s Ojo Federal Constituency.
According to Naija News, Sowunmi was elected on the Labour Party (LP) platform.
However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the election, Honourable Lanre Ogunyemi, contested the Labour Party candidates’ victory as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

On Thursday, a three-person tribunal panel dismissed Sowunmi from his position and declared Ogunyemi, an APC candidate and former Lagos State APC Secretary, the winner.
Justice Ashu A. Ewah, the panel’s chairman, Justice Abdullahi A. Ozegya, and Justice M. A. Sambo determined that the candidate of the Labour Party was not qualified to contest the elections.
