Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ Breaks Record As First Song To Spend One Year On US Billboard Chart

Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, is a Nigerian music sensation. His collaboration with Selena Gomez on the song “Calm Down” marked history by being the first single to spend a full year on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs list.

This was announced on Monday by the American data collection company Chart Data.
The successful song topped the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs list for 52 weeks.

On the Billboard Hot 100 main list, it peaked at number three, and it peaked at number one on the Canadian Top Songs chart.

The song also entered into the Guinness World Record as the First No.1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart (the world’s first regional streaming chart).

It debuted at No. 1 when the MENA Chart was launched by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) on November 29, 2022.
