As a result of his excitement over the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) in Abuja, which confirmed his election, President Bola Tinubu claimed he was unable to sleep on Wednesday night.

According to a previous report by Anaedoonline.ng, Tinubu defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the tribunal on Wednesday.

President Tinubu said he waited impatiently to learn if his election would be upheld and was unable to sleep when the decision was made on Thursday at a meeting outside of the G20 Summit in New Dehli, India.

“So, from that, out of the excitement of the victory, I couldn’t sleep.”

The president, who apologised for attending the meeting late, said, “When I looked at the time, the time difference between Nigeria and India is another problem. Then, my phone wouldn’t stop ringing until I switched it off very late afternoon.

“So, it was a very challenging day after; that was a hangover that I enjoyed, and I hope we all appreciate why we are starting late. Please forgive us.”

In his speech to the audience of potential investors, Tinubu promised that his administration will create a favourable economic environment in the country of West Africa.

He said, “We are here not to talk politics, but to present a future to you. The future of a country that is so rich, endowed, highly populated, very dynamic and unique in its culture. We are unique in our tradition, unique in our ethnicity, a country that we are determined to make its prosperity possible if only we use that God-given diversity for the prosperity of Nigerians.
