PEPT Judgement: Nothing will Come Out Of Your Supreme Court Appeal – Clarke Tells Obi, Atiku

According to Senior Advocate of Nigeria Robert Clarke, SAN, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s Supreme Court petition will have no impact.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT, upheld President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s win on Wednesday, but his opponents have pledged to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who finished second in the election, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who finished third, are contesting Tinubu’s victory.

In an appearance on Channels Television on Sunday, Clarke said that the Supreme Court had previously rendered decisions on every issue that Atiku and Obi had brought before the tribunal.

“In my personal view, and I believe my personal view is enriched with my past experience in the dispensation of justice at the bar.

“I have every belief and I seriously believe that the unanimous judgement of the Court of Appeal is unassailable, it is as fixed as you can fix anything and I can assure that if there is an appeal, I doubt if anything can come out of the appeal. Let us be clear to ourselves.

“All the matters, based on law that were brought before the tribunal, had already been adjudged by the apex court in this country.”
