Police Kill Kidnapper, Rescue Victim In Anambra

On Saturday, Anambra State police murdered one alleged kidnapper and freed the hostage, who has only been identified as Abuchi, in the state’s Orumba South Local Government Area.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state’s police public relations officer, who confirmed the event, said helpful people informed the police on patrol about the kidnapping.
He claimed that on September 9 at around 7.30 p.m., while conducting an anti-crime patrol in Obosi, citizens stopped police officers and notified them of a kidnapping occurrence.

“Police pursued the abductors to an incomplete structure covered by bushes in Umuota village, Obosi, where they engaged the abductors in gunfire.

One of the hoodlums was shot and arrested while others escaped with bullet wounds.

“One double barrel pistol, two live and one expended cartridges were recovered from the gang,” he said.
