Governor Fubara of Rivers State has issued a stern warning to school principals, stating that any found involved in cult activities will face immediate dismissal. This announcement comes just days after the governor vowed to take action against traditional rulers supporting cultism, in response to the tragic killing of a Divisional Police Officer by cultists in the state.

Speaking at the commissioning of the renovated Government Comprehensive Secondary School in Borikiri, Port Harcourt, on September 12, 2023, Governor Fubara emphasized that schools are institutions for quality education, not breeding grounds for cultism.

The governor declared, “Let me say it here, it should be a policy. Any principal found to be associated with cultism will be dismissed from service.” He stressed the importance of maintaining schools as safe and conducive environments for learning.
