According to the Lagos State Police Command, the body of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, would be exhumed for an autopsy to help, if necessary, with the cause of death inquiry.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Mohbad, 27, passed away on Tuesday, but the reason for his passing has been up for debate ever since the unfortunate happened.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated during an Instagram live session with media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, on Thursday night that the police would look into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

Referencing the Force PRO during his interview, SP Hundeyin said, “The Force PRO issued a statement this evening (Thursday) saying that investigation will commence and that’s what we’re going to do. If need be, the body will be exhumed. It’s not too late. The body can be exhumed and an autopsy can be performed.

“And the statement also states that people should bring whatever information they have to the commissioner of police in Lagos State. That’s because we don’t want to do hierarchy anymore. Take it to Force CID, and bring it to Lagos Command. It doesn’t matter. We’re going to harmonise it within ourselves and ensure that justice is done.”

According to Anaedoonline, this happened after a document came to light in which the late singer claimed that a music promoter named Samson Balogun, also known as Sam Larry, had threatened his life, caused malicious damage, assaulted him, and subjected him to oppression, among other things, in a petition to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon, Lagos State.

The dead and another musician, Omoniyi Temidayo alias Zlatan Ibile, were working on a video shoot when Sam Larry and 15 other armed men invaded the location and threatened to cause mayhem, according to Mohbad’s June 27, 2023 plea.

He said, “They eventually assaulted him (Mohbad) before he just barely escaped with injuries after they destroyed equipment valued at over N5 million at the scene.”

The petition read, “I of the above name and address, a law-abiding citizen and a Musician bring to your notice the assault and threat to my life by the above-mentioned persons.
