Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, is a well-known Nigerian artist, and his songs have been banned from playing on Fresh FM 106.9 FM in Ado, Ekiti State, till further notice.

The radio station announced its choice in a post uploaded on its Instagram account (@freshfm1069adoekiti) and authored by Oluwaseunfunmi Williams, its Head of Production and Music Content.

The post reads: “Following the public outcry from the general public trialling the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad), the alleged victimisation from different videos going viral and the involvement of members of his previous record label (Marlian records), fresh 106.9 fm has suspended the airplay of all songs and contents under the banner of Marlian Records.”

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the development comes amid criticism directed at Naira Marley following the passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, better known by her stage as MohBad.

Mohbad passed away last Tuesday and was buried last Wednesday at Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Fans and followers of the late artist turned to social media hours after his passing to blame Naira Marley and music promoter Sam Larry for the singer’s passing.

To investigate Mohbad’s death, the Lagos State Police Command, however, established a special investigative team on Monday. The squad is due to deliver an interim report in two weeks.
