Youths in Ogun and Delta States Demand Justice for Late Musician Mohbad

In the wake of the tragic passing of Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, concerned youths have taken to the streets to demand justice for the late artist. The gatherings, marked by a sea of black-clad individuals, occurred in the Panseke area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, as well as Effurun Road in Delta State.

The youths united under the banner of justice, brandishing placards bearing the hashtags #JusticeforMohbad and #WhoOfLight, among other inscriptions. Their peaceful rallies come on the heels of a protest in Ikorodu, Lagos, where Mohbad was laid to rest.

The passing of Mohbad, which took place last Tuesday, has sparked significant public interest and concern. Some have pointed fingers at Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, who is both the owner of Marlian Records and a fellow musician. Amidst the growing demand for answers surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise, prominent artists have also taken to social media to lend their voices to the call for justice.

In response to the mounting pressure, the Lagos State Police Command has pledged to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. To facilitate this, a special investigation team was inaugurated on Monday.

As the nation waits for answers and justice, the collective voice of the youth continues to resonate, seeking clarity and closure in the tragic loss of one of Nigeria’s promising music talents, Mohbad.
