The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejoiced at the party’s success in the verdicts of the governorship tribunals for the states of Enugu and Bauchi, respectively.
The party praised the tribunal’s decision upholding the victories of its candidates in the two states in a statement released on Thursday via its official account on the X platform.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Enugu State Governorship Election Tribunal affirmed Governor Peter Mbah’s victory in the March 18, 2023, governorship election on Thursday.

The claim by Hon. Chijioke Edeoga/LP that Governor Peter Mbah’s NYSC discharge certificate was fabricated was rejected by the panel’s chairman, Justice Kudirat Akano.
It was determined that Mbah did not provide INEC with his NYSC certificate in support of his qualification to contest for the office of governor since he was already qualified without an NYSC certificate.
The tribunal disbelieved Edeoga’s witnesses, finding that the LP candidate for governor failed to provide any acceptable proof that the governor’s certificate was fake.
In a similar vein, the Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal confirmed on Wednesday that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Bala Mohammed won the state’s March 18 governorship election.
A three-person panel led by Justice P.T. Kwahar rendered the decision.
Enugu Guber Election: Supreme Court Affirms Peter Mbah As Governor
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, a former chief of the air staff, had their plea denied by the tribunal.
The election was conducted legally, hence there was no compelling reason to annul it, the court ruled.
The PDP responded to the tribunal decisions by asserting that the judges’ positions demonstrate the faith that the people of Enugu and Bauchi have in the party.
“The judgement of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunals in Bauchi and Enugu States, upholding the victories of our party in both states is commendable and highly deserving. This verdicts is a reflection of the people’s confidence in our great party in Bauchi and Enugu states and indeed the entire country, Nigeria. Congratulations,” the PDP posted.
