FCT Minister, Wike Revokes Imoke, Udo Udoma, Ex-Senate Whip, 162 Others’ Lands

165 lands in Abuja, some of which belonging to well-known Nigerians, have been cancelled by Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to a document obtained by Newsmen and signed by Olushade Adeshola, the FCT Permanent Secretary, the revocation was brought about by violations and contraventions of the Right of Occupancy’s terms of development.

The document reads, “The Federal Capital Territory Administration hereby informs the general public that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has in the exercise of the powers conferred on him under Section 28 (5) (a) and (b) of the Land Use Act, 1978, revoked the underlisted plots with names and titles as reflected in our records for continued contravention of the terms of development of the Right of Occupancy to wit non-development.”

Former Senate Chief Whip Udoma Udoma, former Cross River Governor Senator Liyel Imoke, first Minister of the Niger Delta Ufot Ekaette, and late Leadership Newspaper proprietor Sam Nda-Isaiah are some noteworthy Nigerians who were impacted by the revocation decision.

On his first day in the position of FCT Minister, Wike threatened to withdraw any land that violated the Abuja Land Use Act, regardless of who was responsible.
