A man named Chidozie Chigbu was killed in the Nsirimo community of the Umuahia South LGA of Abia State by unidentified assailants.
Villagers found the victim’s motionless body in the neighbourhood on Wednesday night. He had extensive knife wounds all over his head, indicating that his killers may have used a machete to kill him.
His body was discovered face down and covered in blood at the scene of the alleged murder.
It has not yet been determined where the attackers were from or what time of day they struck as of the time of this report.

Furthermore, it was unclear whether or not Chidozie Chigbu was involved in any disputes before to his horrific murder.
However, a voice from a video that has been making the rounds on social media from the scene of the attack said that Mr. Chigbu’s lifeless body was found by a villager when he was out fetching water, and that it was his outcry that drew other villagers to the scene.
The event hadn’t yet been confirmed by the Abia State Police Command.
As of the time this report was filed, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, the Command’s police public relations officer, had not responded to any messages regarding the event.
