On Tuesday, the House of Representatives demanded justice in the case of the late musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad.

This came after the acceptance of a resolution by Babajimi Benson (APC, Lagos) about the necessity for justice and preserving Mohbad’s legacy, who passed away in Lagos under dubious circumstances.
Benson bemoaned the absence of protection for artists who, in his words, are frequently forced into and upset by signing of “unscrupulous agreements.”

He said the circumstances that happened to Mohbad, upon leaving his record label at the Marlain Record, exposed the “unfavorable contractual agreements suffered by so many upcoming artistes.”

He called on the House to monitor the allegations and investigation around the circumstances of the death, and review contract laws in the entertainment industry for the good of the wider public.
