The debate regarding President Bola Tinubu’s academic records from Chicago State University (CSU) has drawn the attention of the Labour Party (LP).
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Carl Westberg, a senior CSU official, claimed on Tuesday that Tinubu’s replacement copy of the diploma certificate he gave to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was not authentic.
Speaking on oath, Westberg, the university’s registrar, stated to the court that this was the first time he had ever seen a copy of a diploma certificate in connection with the current proceedings.

Nigerians have reacted in varied ways to this event.
Speaking on the issues in an interview with Vanguard, the LP claimed that Nigeria’s reputation among other countries has been placed on trial by the CSU’s disclosure of Tinubu’s academic records and their contents.
Obiora Ifoh, National Publicity Secretary of the LP, emphasised that the entire affair has significant effects on how Nigeria is perceived.
Ifoh said: “This whole saga goes beyond the issue of whether or not the president attended Chicago State University, it goes beyond that.
“The issue now is what message are we sending to the rest of the world?““What about our institutions responsible for ensuring that things are properly done? We will wait for the Supreme Court to make its final pronouncement on the matter. We will take it from there.”
