Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communications to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar, has disclosed why his principle is contesting President Bola Tinubu’s certificate.

According to Shaibu, the graduation dates on the certificates submitted by President Tinubu to both the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Atiku’s counsel are inconsistent.

Tinubu’s university certificate shows a graduation date of June 27, 1979, according to Shaibu, although the certificate given to INEC has a date of June 22, 1979.

He was perplexed as to why one person would have two different graduation dates on separate certificates.

In an interview with Channels TV, Atiku’s assistant further indicated that it is not their concern whether Tinubu graduated or not, but the question surrounding his certificate is.

Shaibu said “If he graduated or did not graduate is not our business. What we went there for was for one single thing. He submitted a certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission for the 2023 election.

“And when one of our lawyers based on the Subpoena wrote to the University. He said look, we need a copy of this certificate. They obliged him a copy and the copy of that certificate was completely different from what Mr. Tinubu submitted to INEC. We became curious.

“In that certificate, they gave to our lawyer on Subpoena, it was clearly written there that one Bola A. Tinubu graduated from the University on the 27th of June 1979.

“Meanwhile, the certificate Mr. Tinubu submitted to INEC said he graduated from the University on the 22nd of June 1979, how can one man have 2 dates of graduation.”
