As advised by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), President Bola Tinubu named Shaakaa Chira as the official Auditor-General of the Federation on Friday.
Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, announced the announcement in a statement that was made public on Friday.
According to him, he made the appointment while acting within the parameters of his authority under Section 86 of the 1999 Constitution (Amended).
Ngelale claimed that after the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) completed a screening exercise and found Chira to be the most qualified applicant and the one with the best exam score among all qualified applicants for the position, the president authorised Chira’s appointment.
The statement added, “President Bola Tinubu expects the new Auditor-General to justify the confidence reposed in him and to live up to the high expectations that Nigerians have concerning the execution of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.”
