Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye, a former PDP National Youth Leader, has been elected as the party’s new national secretary by the South-East Zone of the PDP.

This was stated in a communiqué that the South-East Zone Vice Chairman of the PDP, Chief Ali Odefa, read following the weekend South-East Zonal Executive Meeting held in Enugu.

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State and other important party figures from the South-East region were present at the conference.

The gathering, according to Odefa, adopted a resolution designating Udeh-Okoye as the National Secretary of the party in order to allow Senator Anyanwu concentrate on his electioneering campaign in Imo State.

“The position of the National Secretary will be a kind of distraction to his electioneering campaign and victory at the polls.

“Therefore, the South-East Zone, having met and brainstormed, we have come up with a nomination from Enugu State in the person of Rt. Hon. S.K Udeh-Okoye to replace Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party.
