Dr Abdullahi Mustapha has been chosen by President Bola Tinubu to be the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN).
This was announced in a statement delivered on Monday night in Abuja by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
According to Ngelale, Mustapha has extensive experience in the energy and space technology industries and has worked for more than ten years in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

He said that Mustapha had most recently completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship as a Research Associate in the School of Engineering at the esteemed University of Manchester after earning his Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Renewable Energy.
Ngelale stated that President Tinubu anticipates the new ECN Chief Executive will have a positive influence on his administration’s aggressive push to diversify the country’s energy sources in a coordinated manner across the entire government towards the ultimate goal of industrialising every part of the country with every citizen freed from the chains of energy poverty.
