According to Anaedoonline.ng, Nollywood actor John Okafor, well known as Mr. Ibu, has undergone two major surgeries.
The comic actor’s adoptive daughter, Jazmine Okafor, made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday morning.
As previously reported, the legendary actor spent his 63rd birthday on Tuesday in an unidentified hospital in Lagos, where he announced in a video uploaded to Instagram that he required financial support to prevent having his leg amputated.

He had said, “I have been down for so many weeks, all I’m hoping for is your prayers and assistance. I’ve been in the hospital, as I speak to you, I’m still lying down in the hospital.
“The medical director says in case his new idea didn’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg, just see me, if they cut off my leg where will I go to? Please be on prayers for me, talk to God Almighty, I don’t want my leg to be cut off. God bless you”
Jazmine provided an update on her father’s condition and stated that the actor made jokes as if nothing had happened.
He is now stronger than he has been in three weeks, she noted.
She wrote: “Never seen anyone so strong… even after two major surgeries, you were still trying to be funny like nothing happened, even in your lowest you still cracked jokes! I promise you, if there’s a God in heaven, you are getting out of this bed, stronger and alive. This is the strongest I have seen you in 3 weeks and I’m so excited! Fight this and get well soon, sweet papa.”
