Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has declared that without his base, he is politically irrelevant.

According to Wike, a politician loses political relevance if he loses his base.

No amount of slander committed against him, according to the former governor of Rivers State, would cause him to lose sleep.

Speaking to South-South leaders in his Abuja office on Tuesday, Wike insisted that the correct action must be taken.

According to Wike: “All of us want to be politically relevant; all of us want to maintain our political structure.

“Is it not your political structure? Will you allow anybody to just cut you out immediately? Everybody has a base. If you take my base, am I not politically irrelevant?”

It’s thought that Wike and Sim Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, do longer get along.

As a result, several members of the Rivers State House of Assembly filed a motion to remove Fubara from office.

It is alleged that the legislators who tried to impeach Fubara are supporters of Wike.
