Daniel Bwala, the spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation, responded to Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, who threatened to fire any CEOs of aviation companies that did not meet expectations.

Keyamo made the ultimatum on Saturday in Lagos State during the first-ever one-day Aviation Stakeholders’ meeting since taking office, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

The minister stated, turning to face the CEOs of the aviation agencies present, that he has a duty to deliver since, together with other ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, he signed a performance bond.

He said, “On this side, it is either I get sacked, or they get sacked. So, it is a race to who will survive. That’s what I have told all my CEOs, somebody must die first, but before I die, I will take you down.”

Therefore, in order to keep his position, the minister of aviation sought the assistance of industry players.

Bwala stated in a post published via X on Monday that Keyamo is not legally able to fire the head of any agency or parastatal that reports to him.

He maintains that it is only President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who appointed the CEOs, who has the authority to order their dismissal.
