PHOTOS: Nnewi Mourns As Dame Dr. Mrs. Uju Uchendu Ozoka ‘Goes Home’

The people of Nnewi, Anambra State on November 9th came together to pay final respects to a remarkable woman, a true force of nature, Dame Dr. Mrs. Uju Uchendu Ozoka, a powerful woman of determination, business mogul, philanthropist and seasoned politician.

Dr. Uju Uchendu Ozoka, Ogbo ogu Nnewi left an indelible mark on the hearts of many and today, the family, friends and members of the community gathered at the Ozoka mansion, beside St. Felix Catholic Church, Egbu, Umuenem, Otolo, Nnewi, to bid her farewell.

The ceremony was graced by great personalities who came to honor the life of this extraordinary woman. The atmosphere was a mix of sorrow and celebration, as they remember the legacy she leaves behind.

In an interview with Anaedooline, members of the Ozoka family shared heartfelt memories and reflections on Dame Uju’s life. Her impact on the community and beyond was profound, touching lives in ways that will forever be remembered.

Odera Ozoka, her first son speaks of how prayerful and kind his mother was and recalled her numerous impact towards education and community development in different parts of the world.

Chinenye Ozoka says “mummy is a strong woman. She raised us well and we hope to carry on the great legacy she left behind. She was godly and kind to all”.

Dame Uju Ozoka is survived by a legacy of love and generosity. In her remarkable journey, she adopted 21 children who, along with her three biological children and numerous grandchildren, continue to carry the torch of her spirit.

As the people say final goodbyes, let us remember Dame Dr. Mrs. Uju Ozoka for the powerful, determined and inspiring woman she was. Nnewi truly lost a great woman.
