Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for governor of Imo State in the election scheduled for November 11th, has arrived at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Days after running in the Imo governorship race, Anyanwu returned to his position as the PDP’s national secretary, according to Anaedoonline.ng. He arrived at the party office around 12:10 p.m.

Anyanwu was greeted by the National Secretariat staff of the main opposition party as he arrived at his office.

UPDATE: Court Orders PDP To Replace Anyanwu As National Secretary

Recall that Hope Uzodinma was proclaimed the victor of the Imo State governorship contest by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.

According to Professor Abayomi Fashina, the state election’s returning officer, Uzodimma outperformed his rivals in every Local Government Area (LGA) in the State, earning more votes than both Anyanwu, the PDP’s nominee, and Athan Achonu, the Labour Party (LP).

According to Fashina, Uzodimma received 540,308 votes in total, Anyanwu 71,503 votes, and Achonu 64,081 votes.
