Nigerians Calls For Peseiro Sack As Super Eagles Draw Against Zimbabwe

Following the Super Eagles’ disheartening 1-1 stalemate against Zimbabwe—their second straight draw in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign—Nigerians took to social media to voice their displeasure.

Nigeria’s blushes were spared at Butare when Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City tied the score with a beautiful curler from inside the box.

Nevertheless, despite their best efforts, the Jose Peseiro-led team was unable to secure a victory, as the Zimbabweans made sure the Eagles would never taste triumph.

The Super Eagles have only collected two of a potential six points in their qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup, meaning they are still without a victory following the draw.

This result adds to the disappointment of Nigerians on social media, and many are calling for the dismissal of Peseiro.
