Daniel Bwala, a spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party’s PDP Presidential Campaign Council for the 2023 election, asserted that the outcome of the Ebonyi governorship election would be predictable if the Court of Appeal upheld its ruling regarding the dismissal of Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

Speaking on Channels Television on Monday, Bwala bemoaned the governor’s dismissal due to an erroneous nomination. She asserted that Governor Caleb had received the right nomination during the party’s primary.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Plateau Governor was fired by the Appeal Court in a decision rendered on Sunday by a three-judge panel chaired by Justice Elphreda Williams-Dawodu.

Tinubu Govt Will Find It Hard To Respect Human Rights – Bwala

The All Progressives Congress’s Nentawe Goshwe was given a new certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the court ordered the INEC to revoke the one that had been given to Mutfwang.

The court ruled that Section 285(2) of the Nigerian Constitution is violated by the PDP’s nomination of the governor.

Speaking on the subject, Bwala asserted that the ruling party’s Francis Nwifuru, who won the election on March 18, was not eligible to run for office in Ebonyi State, citing comparable legal problems in that state.

The PDP and its candidate, Ifeanyi Odii, are attempting to have the election of Francis Nwifuru declared void in Ebonyi State due to noncompliance with the Electoral Act of 2022.

Due to his continued membership in the PDP, Odii contends that the governor was unable to run for office on the APC platform at the time of the election.
