APC NWC Names Wike Loyalists Caretaker Committee After Dissolving Rivers Executive

The executive committees of the APC’s River State branch at all levels have been dissolved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

The ruling Party’s publicity secretary, Felix Morka, revealed this information on Wednesday at a press conference.

Tony Okocha, a supporter of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, was appointed by the Party to lead the Caretaker committee.

Speaking to reporters following the NWC meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Morka said that Barr. Festus Fuanter, the Deputy National Secretary, and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman, had signed the Party’s decision.

He said, “The NWC of the APC at its meeting on 22 November 2023 and under the powers conferred upon it by the NEC of the Party and by the provision of Article 13 and recognizing compelling circumstances that have arisen in the Rivers state chapter necessitating decisive actions hereby resolves that the executive committees of the Party in Rivers state at all levels are dissolved.

“A caretaker committee shall be appointed to conduct a comprehensive e-registration of all members in the state;

“To facilitate the emergence of new executive committees extending from wards to the state.”

Chief Eric Nwibani was designated as Secretary, while Chief Tony C. Okocha was identified as Chairman. Members include Senibo Karibi Dan-Jumbo, Miss Darling Amadi, Hon. Chibuike Ikenga, Prince Stephen Abolo, and Hon. Silvester Vidin.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Okocha supported Wike’s appointment to the position of Minister in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet, representing Rivers State.
