The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has promised to appeal the Court of Appeal’s decision upholding Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s victory. Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, was the PDP’s candidate for governor in the Lagos governorship election.
Hakeem Amode, the publicity secretary for the Lagos PDP, revealed this to media on Monday in a Lagos interview.
According to Amode, the party planned to appeal Sanwo-Olu’s election as Lagos governor all the way to the Supreme Court.

According to the press secretary, the party’s gubernatorial candidate’s petitions challenging Governor Sanwo-Olu’s reelection have not been handled fairly.
He said, “We are challenging the ruling of the Appeal Court, affirming Sanwo-Olu as winner at the Supreme Court. In a couple of days, our petitions will get to the Supreme Court.”
Remember that on November 15, the Court of Appeal in Lagos rejected arguments made by Adediran challenging the state’s election petition tribunal’s decision.
In accordance with the tribunal’s decision, the appellate court rejected Adediran’s 34 grounds of appeal against Sanwo-Olu’s victory in the governorship race on March 18.
The court determined that because the problem at hand was pre-election, it was not appropriate to pursue legal action on the claimed disqualification of Sanwo-Olu and his running mate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

The appellants’ failure to substantiate the claim that Sanwo-Olu falsified his West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate was also declared by the court.
