The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Sokoto Network Center’s structures were destroyed by fire on Sunday.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, as at the time this story was filed, the cause of the fire was unknown.

 

This occurs 24 hours after a fire that damaged the Federal Secretariat’s Head of Service Office in Abuja on Saturday, damaging Block C of the complex.

Mohammad Ahmed, the Director of Communications for the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, verified the occurrence and stated that an explosion in the third-floor Electrical Utility Room was the reason behind the fire that broke out in Block C.

He stated that the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was the current occupier of the space and that it was being used as a solar and inverter room.

Ahmed stated that the Federal and FCT Fire Services were able to contain the fire at approximately 5:00 p.m., mentioning that the building’s utility rooms were impacted by the fire from the second to the eighth floors.

Directors from the impacted MDAs were on the scene during the operation, along with Permanent Secretaries Lydia S. Jafiya of the Special Duties Office and Faruk Yusuf Yabo of the Common Services Office-OHCSF.
