Willie Obiano’s allies in Anambra State have pushed Charles Soludo, the current governor, to pay their severance benefits.

The request was made by the aides on Sunday at a reunion meeting in Awka.

The aides claim that 42 of Obiano’s appointees had passed away in the two years after they were removed from government.

They bemoaned the fact that their colleagues passed away without getting their severance benefits, and they urged Soludo to make it easier for them to get their benefits.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Obiano had made the same call a month prior, stating that one of the requirements for Soludo’s support to succeed him was the payment of aides and the employment of some of them into Soludo’s ministry.

During the event, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the deputy governor of Anambra State and a former political appointee of Obiano, encouraged the former aides to have faith in God instead of giving up.

He claimed there was no need to panic because even Governor Soludo had been an appointee of Obiano’s in the past.
