Man Takes His Own Life After Losing N2.5 Million to Betting

Tragic events occurred on Tuesday when Onoh Chukwuma, a Facebook user, is said to have taken his own life by swallowing pesticide. It is stated that he was unable to handle the strain and humiliation of losing N2.5 million in bets.

Onoh’s grief was made evident when he wrote a farewell message on his Facebook wall, thanking specific people and declaring that it was his last day on earth. His readers had no idea that he had already taken the lethal ingredient.

He stated, “Today is my last day on earth! I’m going to meet my maker. Thank you Chima Anyaso, Ikukuoma Abia, Kelvin Jombo Onumah, Ekwueme Ohafia, and my friends. My spirit is with you all.”

Friends worried about Onoh rushed him to Madonna Hospital in Umuahia as soon as they learned of his predicament. He did not survive the experience, despite the attempts of the medical staff to revive him.

When it was discovered that Onoh had allegedly lost N2.5 million in a gambling endeavour, the embarrassment and pressure from people from whom he had borrowed money became intolerable.

When a friend learned of his passing, she described her sadness and the doctors’ inability to bring him back to life.

A Facebook commenter questioned the deceased’s choice, pointing out that Onoh had N1 million and had borrowed a another N1.5 million to place a wager that ultimately backfired, tragically ending his life from debt.

On Onoh’s Facebook page, friends and acquaintances shared their condolences and lamented the sudden loss.
