Odefa Obasi Odefa, a former deputy speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, has formally declared his joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) and leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He did not take this action alone; about 500 supporters from the Onicha East Constituency joined him in making the switch.

Odefa visited Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, the current governor, at the Ebonyi State Government House in Abakaliki before the official declaration.

The APC’s doors are still open to everyone who has the best interests of the state at heart, Governor Nwifuru said as he cordially welcomed the new members to the party.

Assuring the newcomers of equal possibilities inside the party, he urged them to work together in the ongoing endeavours to further Ebonyi’s development.

The governor’s request for collaboration shows a dedication to advancement and inclusivity within the parameters of the APC.
