The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked the Gubio Police Divisional Office in Borno State on Friday in a blatant manner, killing one police inspector and taking off with a police car.
According to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst for Lake Chad and expert in counter-insurgency, the attack started when militants arrived on the police facility in two Hilux cars and several motorcycles and started shooting randomly.

Makama said on X that the attackers and police at the divisional office got into a heated altercation.
The terrible death of a police inspector who bravely battled the terrorists was confirmed by insider sources.
The assault’s aftermath was exacerbated by the perpetrators’ successful escape with one working police vehicle.
