Governor Godwin Obaseki is not supporting Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor of Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, who has stated this again.
Remember when the former chairman of Sterling Bank formally announced his plan to run for governor of Edo State on January 17?
During a Wednesday appearance on Arise News, Ighodalo declared that he is not supported by the governor and that he is independent.

The PDP leader claimed that since the governor had not told him of any such plan, Obaseki could not force him to carry out the project as part of his third term.
He said: “Yes, I have indeed known Governor Godwin Obaseki for a long time, we are friends I met him at university. He’s an investment banker and I’m a lawyer, we have worked on the same sides or opposite sides of big corporate transactions.
“However, I’m not sure that if Gov. Obaseki is looking for a third term he will come to me. I’m fully independent, and I don’t see any way he can dangle me at the end of a rope. I’m loyal to the people of Edo State.”
Ighodalo is from Ewohimi in the Esan South-East Local Government Area of the Edo Central District, which is where Governor Obaseki wants power to move, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Ighodalo hails from Ewohimi, which is in the Esan South-East Local Government Area of the Edo Central District—the area where Governor Obaseki wants authority to shift.
