Brigadier-General Yusha’u Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has highlighted that there are no relocation choices available for Corps members and has urged them to be ready to serve wherever they may be posted inside Nigeria.

Brigadier-General Ahmed advised Corps members not to pursue redeployment and instead to settle down, emphasising their responsibility to support the expansion and advancement of the states to which they have been assigned.

He emphasised the value of honouring the customs and culture of the host community and urged Corps members to embrace resilience and peaceful cooperation while serving.

Brigadier-General Ahmed expressed confidence that many Corps members would willingly decide to stay in their assigned states after serving their time, adding that this directive is in line with NYSC’s mission to promote cultural exchange, foster national integration among Corps members, and contribute to the nation’s overall development.

He stated, “I urge you to respect the culture & traditions of your host community.”

“Remain peaceful and resilient as you add value to the community you’re posted to. I’m sure many of you will choose to remain here after your service,” he added.
