Alex Otti Urges Minister to Revive Abandoned Projects In Abia

The governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has urged Abubakar Momoh, the minister of Niger Delta affairs, to move to finish unfinished projects that the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) started all over the state.

Governor Otti brought attention to the large number of abandoned NDDC projects in the state during a visit by the minister and his team to assess road projects in Abia. He emphasised the necessity for contractors to revisit the sites and finish the projects.

Governor Otti expressed concern for the state’s reputation as a major victim of NDDC projects that were abandoned, pointing out that numerous highways in the area are in terrible shape and need immediate repair.

Governor Otti expressed gratitude for the minister’s visit and acknowledged the significance of the NDDC and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to the area and urged him to address the longstanding issue of debts owed to contractors to facilitate the progress of the projects.

He gave the minister of Abia his word that he would work with him to accomplish the state’s infrastructure development objectives.

In response, Minister Abubakar Momoh praised Governor Otti for the enhanced security in Abia and emphasised the need of preserving peace for the region’s economic development.

Momoh stressed that genuine growth requires a collaborative approach between his ministry and the states, emphasising the importance of a solid partnership between the two organisations to produce measurable outcomes.
