In the trial of Mohammed Bello Adoke, the former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), the FCT High Court rendered a key decision.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had accused Adoke of fraud, bribery, and conspiracy. However, Justice Abubakar Kutigi has dismissed these accusations.

Justice Kutigi responded to Adoke’s “no case” statement by saying that the EFCC had not provided enough evidence to support its claims of money laundering, bribery, and fraud. He decided that the defendant had no case to answer as a result.

Mohammed Bello Adoke was discharged and found not guilty on all charges in connection with the OPL 245 trial as a consequence of this ruling.
