After a terrifying event at its national chairman Julius Abure’s home, the Labour Party (LP) has raised the alarm over what it claims to be a danger to his life.

Abure barely avoided being killed after an arson attack on his Abuja residence, according to a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh.

Abure and his family were put in great peril during the early morning hours of the ordeal when a suspicious fire spread across their home.

According to him, “His (Abure’s) residence was also gutted by a mysterious fire which started a few minutes after 1 am while Abure and his family members were asleep.

“According to a family member who narrated the incident, the family was woken up by neighbours and security men living in the compound who raised the alarm.

“The entire family was trapped as the inferno reached the staircase, making it impossible for Abure and the family to escape.

“However, it took divine intervention for the national chairman and his family to escape after neighbours and security men gallantly pulled down one of the windows upstairs, making way for the family to escape.

“Men of the Fire Service arrived shortly after Abure and his family were evacuated.
