Joshua Rogers, a journalist with Channels Television in Rivers State, was kidnapped by gunmen at his home in Rumuosi, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Rogers was allegedly followed home after he left work on Thursday night at around nine o’clock when he was abducted.

He was allegedly approached by his assailants at gunpoint and driven off in his car.

The event in Ndoni, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni LGA of the state, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara commissioned a primary healthcare centre built and donated to the state by former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili, was covered by Rogers, the Channels Television correspondent for Government House.

It was learned that the thugs had gotten in touch with his wife and were requesting N30 million in ransom.

When contacted for comment, Grace Iringe-Koko, the police public relations officer, did not return calls.
